Research Not Always Correct

This week in class we went over statistics and how they all involved each other. It was crazy how all the statistics about family related to each other. It amazed me at how the statistics of babies born out of wedlock effected the marriage rate, and how the the divorce rate was so high in certain place and low in others. It was strange because they were all intertwined. It was also interesting because we always here that divorce rates are going up, but in reality 75% of Americans are married.
Statistics are a strange thing. We are opt to believe them without even checking the sources. Why do we do this? I know I am like this, but I am going to try and change that. We need to truly study the sources and wether it is a biased opinion or if it was researched correctly.
Not a lot of people know the story behind the researcher who concluded that vaccines were horrible for children... Well the researcher had no proof or resources to back up his accusations that vaccines were not healthy. He published an article saying what he thought and millions of people believed him and therefore did not give their children the vaccines that could prevent sickness and disease. He was later caught and tried for giving out false information, but many don't know that and still believe what he said was correct.

About Me

My name is Hailey! My family includes my parents and two younger sisters. I love them to pieces! My family is my everything, I would not know what to do without them. To me family is the main source of joy in life. Through family we can accomplish so much and feel supported throughout our lives.
